The
city was founded in the beginning of XVII c. however
in the half of XVIII c. first tourist started visiting
this place. Between XIX and XX c. Zakopane started to
mean something more than a mountain village. It happened
so, because many artists and writers of Mloda Polska
period moved here from Krakow to concentrate on making
their art. Here to Zakopane came a composer Karol Szymanowski,
a writer and painter Witkacy and Stanislaw Witkiewicz
created here his original Zakopane style.
