TRAIN
There are several trains during a day from Krakow to
Zakopane. Express train needs 2,5 hour to get to Zakopane
and a fast train needs about 3,5 hours. The direct train
from Warsaw, the express train needs 6,3 hours.
BUS
The journey by bus from Krakow to Zakopane is faster
than train journey and takes about 2,5 hours. At the
weekends the traffic is bigger so the journey may be
prolonged about 1,5 hours. Buses in Krakow depart usually
from Dworzec Glowny PKP. Nearby Zakopane there are border
checkpoints with Slovakia in Chocholow, Lysa Polana,
Chyzne, Korbielow and Niedzica; and buses PKS run also
abroad to Poprad for example. Moreover on Zakopane streets
one can see hackney carriages.
AIRPORT
The nearest airport is in Poprad in Slovakia, it is
a distance of about 70 km from Zakopane. The other international
airports are in Krakow (110 km) and in Warsaw (10 km).
