NEW TOWN (NOWE MIASTO)
On the north - west of The Old Town there is the New
Town which beginnings are dated on the end of XIV c.
At that time it was a separated city from the Old Town
without ramparts, particularly inhabited by the poor.
Most of attractions are concentrated on Długa Street
or at the Square of the New Town, among other things
one can see Citadel, the Monument of the Warsaw Uprising,
St. Casimir's Church.

WILANOWSKI PALACE (PALAC
WILANOWSKI)

This is another parks' complex with a palace. The palace
was built in XVII c. and one can observe similarities
to this in Versailles. This palace was a summer residence
of King Jan III Sobieski. In the World War II was seriously
damaged. Presently, after it's rebuilding in 1970 there
is a museum. The palace is surrounded by different gardens
designed in many styles.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM (MUZEUM
NARODOWE)

In the museum one can find a vast collection of works
of art from the ancient times to the present. The museum
is famous for its exhibitions like for example paintings
of impressionists, works of Warhol, to the main attractions,
undoubtedly belongs a painting - Grunwald's Battle of
Jan Matejko that presents a great Polish Latvian victory
over the Teutonic Knights in 1410.

THE JEWISH HISTORY INSTITUTE

The institute is situated in a place where before World
War II was Jewish library. Currently in the institute
a museum of Jewish culture is open. In the museum one
can find paintings, sculptures and hundreds of photos
from Ghetto times.

In this church, Chopin's heart is buried like also
a famous Polish writer's a Nobel Prize winner - Wladyslaw
Reymont.
