NEPTUNE FOUNTAIN (FONTANNA
NEPTUNA)

In front of Artus Court there has been built a symbol
of Gdansk the Neptune Fountain - god of sea. The monument
was made of bronze in 1606-1613 by Flemish artist Peter
Husen.

GOLDEN HOUSE (ZŁOTA KAMIENICA)

This Golden House was built in 1618 and was considered
as the most beautiful middle - class building in Gdansk.

GREEN GATE (ZIELONA BRAMA)

The Royal Way is ended with the Renaissance Green Gate
built as a royal residence, however in the whole history
none of Polish kings stayed there even once, choosing
rather the Artus Court.

ALONG MOTLAWA RIVER (WZDŁUŻ
RZEKI MOTŁAWY)
The way along Motlawa River was some time ago a port
for calling to Gdansk ships. In this port goods were
unloaded and loaded. At the present the loading pier
is connected with the Old Town by 7 Gothic gates: Krowia,
Chlebnicka, Kotwiczników, Mariacka, Sw. Duch, Świętojanska
and Straganiarska. At the end of Szeroka Street there
is a large Gdansk Crane that comes from 1444 year. The
Crane fulfilled defensive function like also it was
a lift of tonnage the biggest in Europe. The Crane was
used to unload heavy goods, often barrels with wine.
Currently in the Crane has been made a maritime museum.
From the Mariacka Gate it begins Mariacka Street, worth
seeing because of its fabulous character.

ST. MARY'S CHURCH (KATEDRA
MARIACKA)

Basilica of Virgin Mary is the biggest church in the
world that built of bricks. This monumental building
was built between 1342 - 1502. The interior is enlightened
by 37 windows and there are 7 gates that lead to the
entrance. Inside, one can admire precious works of art
like for example the Gothic sculpture of Beautiful Madonna
from the beginning of XV c. In the cathedral there is
also a big astronomical clock that comes from 1553 which
showed sunrises and sunsets, moonrises and moonsets,
circulation of planets, days and holidays.
