you want to travel on short distances you can use buses.
Sometimes, because of rough terrain trains don't go
and buses are the only means of transport.
Polish
national bus company, PKS, offer rather old buses but
there are more and more private bus companies, which
operate in domestic and international lines. As to the
prices, buses on short distances are cheaper than trains.
Mostly,
bus stations are in the center of cities.
